Sympathy & Funeral Tribute training Course+

We were joined last weekend by a lovely group of students who were completing Module 2 Sympathy & hand Tied Course. This course is probably one of our most light hearted and fun course with he students getting the opportunity to design an array of Funeral tributes.  Some of the girls even commented that some of the displays were too nice to be only suitable for graves & funeral.

Bridal Hair Accessories made from Brooches

A very simple technique on using brooches to create a stunning hair comb or hair band ideal for weddings or communions

What you will need is

  • Metallic Wire
  • Brooches
  • 12 inches of 2 inch Lace for the frill
  • Metal Comb
  • Needle & thread
how to make a head dress

Using a pliers or strong scissors remove the Pin from the back of the brooch to insure it sits more flush on the comb.  Be careful when doing this as sometimes it can cause the stones to pop out of the brooches. (always keep a tube of glue handy to glue these back immediately or you will loose the stone forever)

Thread the metallic wire through the brooches to join all three brooches together.  Doing this will make the brooches sit more securely on the comb.

With a needle and thread gather the strips of lace into an oval shape frill that is large enough to cover most of the comb.

Using your glue gun glue the frill to the top of the comb along the straight bar.  You could also add a few stitches to be sure to be sure  :)

Complete this simple comb by gluing the wired brooches on top of the frill and then with your needle and thread add some stitches along the entire comb to keep it all in place.
